I am easily fascinated. I look around me and I see beauty everywhere. I get a lump in my throat, my eyes get big--it excites me. Photography is a way to capture that beauty. It is immediately gratifying. I grew up in wild rural Pennsylvania, immersed in nature. I would describe myself as 50% arty and 50% country; these elements come together in me and have defined my vision. In nature, for example, I see and love to capture light and shadow, circles and other shapes, color and contrast. But nature is ephemeral, its elements changing and disappearing with the seasons, and photos are a way for me to record it before it is gone, to be replaced by something else beautiful and fascinating.
