Cherie Blazer, Philosopher in Chief and Wordsmith Extraordinaire

Cherie is a late bloomer Boomer, born at the tail end of the Boomer generation. She was playing with Barbies while her older sisters marched on Washington and fought for equal rights, but watched and learned. Now she is an empty nester with a whole new future to explore and share at www.BoomerConnections.com! As “Philosopher in Chief” Cherie merely wants to change the world with this blog: to encourage those of us in the midst of our “second act” to look at life with new eyes, open to a life filled with new beginnings rather than endings, and to apply all we have learned to a way of living that is more meaningful and profound. There is SO much to live for, up until the very end. Read more…

Rita McCulloch, Social Butterfly and Boomer Guardian

Rita McCulloch is a mid generation Boomer who saw change and turmoil happen all around her from a vantage point as a young African American woman growing up in Huntsville, Alabama. Yet her focus was on family, community, church and helping others.  She began helping seniors with their personal and financial needs as a volunteer while raising her family. She then founded a business, Boomer3Solutions, through which she helps educate, organize, and prepare families for their golden age years and minimize the stress that can be related to caregiving. Rita brings to Boomer Connections a strong background in elder care concerns and the many decisions facing their Boomer family members.  Read more…

Loralee SwabLoralee Swab, Photographer

I am easily fascinated. I look around me and I see beauty everywhere. I get a lump in my throat, my eyes get big–it excites me. Photography is a way to capture that beauty. It is immediately gratifying. I grew up in wild rural Pennsylvania, immersed in nature. I would describe myself as 50% arty and 50% country; these elements come together in me and have defined my vision. In nature, for example, I see and love to capture light and shadow, circles and other shapes, color and contrast. But nature is ephemeral, its elements changing and disappearing with the seasons, and photos are a way for me to record it before it is gone, to be replaced by something else beautiful and fascinating.
