Why I Love My Electric Bike

A very popular trend is changing the way we enjoy nature: electric bikes (E-bikes).  I never knew they existed until my other half told me about his and that he wanted to start doing more bike riding. I hadn’t really ridden a bike since my son was involved with Boy Scouts many years ago.  I did have a traditional bike, so I agreed to go riding with him. It turned out to be a major challenge for me. The traditional bike I was using did not work too well and my muscles hurt the first time out. It didn’t get easier the more I rode. I had a hard time getting up inclines and really couldn’t go very far without my joints and knees hurting.  So…I decided to purchase an E-bike!

When I started looking, I assumed they would be cost-prohibitive and I am on a tight budget! However, lucky me, I found a deal and was able to purchase one with a purchase plan. I absolutely love this bike!!!  It has been a great investment and it really helps me go further without hurting my joints. I still have to pedal, but the battery assists on inclines and over rougher terrain.  Recently we visited a state park and biked around 7 miles. There is no way I could have done that with my old traditional bike and walking 7 miles would also have been too hard on my joints.

We love to go camping and exploring different locations. Having the E-bike allows us to go further distances and be able to see more without having to deal with traffic. Once we park the car and get our bikes down from the rack, we can ride around the area easier and cover more distance.

Since I have gotten older, I have been experiencing arthritis in my knees, feet, and ankles. This prohibits me from going on long hikes like I used to be able to do without my feet hurting. Having the E-bike allows me to enjoy the fresh air and be in nature without pain. We have enjoyed biking together at our campgrounds and in some amazing parks. There is nothing better than experiencing nature in the woods!

E-bikes are heavier than a traditional bike. Balancing is important when you ride. The battery needs to be charged and is good for about 4 to 6 hours. You can use it without the battery if you wish. The E-bike helps build core strength and increase your metabolism even with the pedal boost because you can ride longer distances. Do some research and see if an E-bike is good for you. I love mine and highly recommend it!

Please feel free to share any experiences or questions you may have about the E-bike in the comments section. Enjoy…and stay healthy!
