Welcome to 52 Small Pursuits of Happiness in 2019

Ok Boomers, are you ready? This is the year we are going to stick to our New Year’s Resolution to pursue engagement and fun with intent. We are committing to accomplish one new small pursuit each week…so stay tuned as the list grows.

Many life coaches advise clients that you need to “get out of your comfort zone” in order to achieve success…but that implies a challenge. We admit we don’t have a burning desire to be challenged to any extreme degree. We really just want to have a good time. After our 5 to 7 decades of living and working, we deserve it!  Our goal with the “52 Small Pursuits of Happiness” is to take small actions that make for happier and more engaged living, and then report back here on our blog.

Some of the activities we have planned may veer off the beaten path, maybe something we haven’t done before—or don’t do often enough—but are firmly within the zone of comfort. Some are just small gestures or pursuits that add a little bit of whimsy and pleasure, and maybe even childlike wonder, into our lives. Some cost money, usually not that much, and others are totally free. None require a passport.

52 Small Adventures, the sort of thing that makes life worth living. We can’t wait to have them, and we can’t wait to share them. Week #1 adventure follows.

Happy New Year! So much to look forward to in 2019!!

Week #1 — Visit a New State Park

Week #2 — An Ice Cream Adventure

Week #3 — Happy Hour

Week #4 — Read A Children’s Book

Week #5 — A New Bagel

Cherie is a late bloomer Boomer, born at the tail end of the Boomer generation. She was playing with Barbies while her older sisters marched on Washington and fought for equal rights, but watched and learned. Now she is an empty nester with a whole new future to explore and share at www.BoomerConnections.com! As “Philosopher in Chief” Cherie merely wants to change the world with this blog: to encourage those of us in the midst of our “second act” to look at life with new eyes, open to a life filled with new beginnings rather than endings, and to apply all we have learned to a way of living that is more meaningful and profound. There is SO much to live for, up until the very end.
